The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between project manager’s competencies and project success in the context of International Development Projects in Maldives. It analyses whether project manager’s emotional, managerial and intellectual competency affects the success of International Development Projects. Quantitative approach was used to obtain data through questionnaire survey from 70 respondents that consisted of project managers and project team members. The findings reveal that emotional, managerial and intellectual competency affected International Development Project success in Maldives. It was found that intellectual competency was the most significant factor that had greatest impact on the project success.
