520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The main objectives of this study was to know how students assess the potential and usefulness of social media as a tool of communication in their education. The study was conducted in five universities : Asia Pacific University, Taylor's University, Sunway University, Monash University and Segi University where convenience sampling has been used to facilitate the collection of data and analysis process. Furthermore, this study was also done to know whether students assess the usage of social media as being positive or negative during their learning process at the university and how the make use of social media to improve their learning skills. Social media and the higher education system have been discussed in detailed together with dependent and independent variables. Based on the analysis and result, it has been seen that both male and female students use social media almost equally for their studies, meaning that there is no significant difference score between them. Moreover, the result showed that there is strong and positive correlation between dependent variable (communication effectiveness_ and independent variables (perceived usefulness, perceived information quality and perceived ease of use). Positive results have also been showed for the hypothesis, meaning that there is a relationship between the dependent variable and independent variable. From the analysis, it can also be seen that using social media, students are more effective especially in communication and collaboration using WhatsApp and Facebook for their studies. In addition, based on the statistical techniques and numerous literature references have been used, the result are valid and reliable. Finally, the study can bring more information and understanding about education and social media especially towards the university and future research.
