520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The purpose of this study is done to examine the effectiveness of Shariah supervisory board (SSB) and Islamic banks in Malaysia using a sample of 16 banks in Malaysia for a time frame of 5 years (2014- 2018). To measure the effectiveness of SSB and Islamic bank in Malaysia this study employed Return on Asset (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) as 2 dependent variables to measure the bank’s performance and 3 shariah board related variables are employed as independent variables which are competency, SSB size and SSB Transparency. Moreover, to make the result more constant 2 bank fundamental variables (bank size and bank age) and macro factors (GDP and Inflation) are used as control variables. The secondary data was collected from the bank’s annual reports and the study used STATA software to analyze the research objectives and questions. By employing the random -effect model it was found that there is insignificant relation between effectiveness of SSB and Islamic bank performance in Malaysia.
