Malaysia’s private higher educationsector has changed rapidly and contribute to the success of this country. The present study examined the influence ofconflict management on organizational performance among the lecturers in the private universities in Klang Valley, Malaysia. The chosen universities are Asia Pacific University (APU), International Medical University (IMU), Sunway University, INTI University and International University Malaya-Wales (IUMW). This was a quantitative research and using a survey method. Data was collected from a sample of 120lecturersengaged in the private universitiesin Klang Valley, Malaysia. The findings revealed that the conflict management strategy has impacton the organizationalperformance.However, the results revealed that third party intervention has the weakest correlation while negotiation and communication have a strongcorrelation with the organizational performance.The findings supported the results from some earlier studies and bring out several new ideas. The findings have significantly contributed to the advancement of knowledge in the organizational performance of lecturers in private universities in Klang Valley, Malaysia. As for practical implication, the significant and positive impact of negotiation and communicationsuggests the importance of this factors managing the conflict that can affect the organizational performance. The results of this study will add to the current body of knowledge as well as assist in creating foundational solutions to ensure successful lecturers’performance. The paper's primary contribution is finding that negotiationhas the highest impactas a conflict management strategyon improving the organizational performanceof lecturersin Klang valley, Malaysia. |
