By: KHONG BOON BIN (TP042757)Contributor(s): Dr. Meisam Eslahi [Supervisor.]Material type: TextTextPublication details: Kuala Lumpur : Asia Pacific University, 2019Description: 113 pages. : illustrations ; 30 cmSubject(s): Computer security | Information technology -- Management | Client/Server ComputingLOC classification: PG-21-0108Dissertation note: A project submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements of Staffordshire University for the degree of BSc. (Hons.) in Cyber Security (APT3F1805CYB). Summary: File sharing technologies has grown in popularity and frequency due to the high demand as the increase of people working remotely from home, enterprise data migrating into cloud computing environment and other reason people need to access to data via the file sharing technology. The major benefit brought by the file sharing technologies are scalability and convenience. However, if the file transfer technologies are not configured securely, it might lead to a serious implication in terms of data security. Therefore, secure file sharing is important for users to protect their personal and confidential information. This project will utilise RSA algorithm to generate key for encryption purpose on Microsoft Windows platform written in Java programming language. Public key generated by RSA algorithm can be a query at Google drive API for another user to perform encryption. It is considered as a centralised storage of public key to ensure that the probability of man in the middle attack will be effectively decrease. Lastly, the encrypted file will be uploaded into uploader's Google Drive along with sharing permission with specified recipients.
