Summary: The Maldives is a country highly dependent on international clients towards development of the nation, through major infrastructural and institutional projects. This research focuses on the cross-cultural impact on the transnational projects established in the Maldives. By studying the opinions and insight of experts such as shareholders and project managers, on the cross-cultural impact in regards to Maldivian context, the researcher gains a stronger understanding and can use the obtained information to publish it for the industrial development and further research. For the purpose of qualitative research, the researcher had approached eight respondents to gain an insight of the topic at hand. The questions were semi-structured and the respondents were purposefully selected for the interview sessions in regards to their experience in international project management. The respondents were of high positions, such as project managers and coordinators. For the quantitative research, the questionnaire was pilot tested, and sent to the organisations that the interview took place, whereby, targeting the project officers. The results of this study resulted in a remarkable view towards the cultural competencies of the international project environment of the Maldives. The results show the exclusive comprehension of the stakeholder’s opinions which the readers might find contradicting to their understandings towards the international project environment in the Maldives.
