Summary: The implementation of current project is attempting to study the characteristic of increasing cost of living in Malaysia and develop a personal financial management mobile application that able to assist the adult Malaysians in dealing with the problem of increasing cost of living. In the project first leg, a great amount of research has been conducted in the project such as study the existing cost of living increasing issue from other literature or reliable sources. During the literature review, the project has found out the inflation and economic growth is strongly related to the issue of increasing cost of living among Malaysians. However, not all Malaysians are struggling in the issue, but most of them who struggling in the current problem is due to the factors such as low financial literacy, insufficient income, increment of salary and high unemployment rate. With all these issues, the government has putting a lot of effort to assists the Malaysians. However, it still room of improvement and the collaboration between private sector and government also needed. In this case, the project is planning to develop a financial management mobile application with a series of features to help people overcome the issue. When the decision is made, the project has conducted a survey research to the potential users, in order to further understand and study about the subject matter and requirements of people. Besides, the project also conducted the interview research with the experts from financial industry and software development industry, to gather the knowledge to build the application. After the research in first leg of project, the system design and development process are conducted in the project second leg. The OOAD design methodology is chosen and the diagram including UML use case, use case specification, class diagram, activity diagram and deployment diagram is involved to describe the application design. During the development phase, all the design will be followed by the developer. After the application is developed, the unit, integration and user acceptance testing has been applied where the test plans that designed in the early stage are used. Besides, the project has decided the application will be release from version 1.0 to 3.0 which involve various features improvement from one release to another. Finally, the application is developed, and the project has been evaluated and concluded at the end of the project.
