Summary: This study analysed the strategy conducted by Indonesian Government to overcome the issue of human trafficking in fishing industry by PT. Pusaka Benijna Resouce (PBR) in Benjina, Aru Regency, Indonesia. The issue of human trafficking occurs as an impact of an increasing emergence of transnational organized crime and considered as threat to national and people security. Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, are prone to the issue of human trafficking, especially in fishing industry—therefore Indonesia considered as the country suffers the most from human trafficking issue among other ASEAN countries. In PBR case, 1.128 human trafficking victims were identified and the fate of both the victims and Indonesia’s future national security lies on the effectiveness of the Indonesian Government’s responses, law enforcement, and policy reform subsequent to the issue of PBR. Using the methods of Qualitative, this descriptive-analytical study conducted with secondary data gathering as well as primary data through interviews on several governmental institutions. This result of this study indicate that Indonesia has successfully overcome the issue of Human Trafficking in PBR in an “effective” manner within a short period of time with a minimum level of intervention from other countries.
