Summary: Nowadays, mobile wallet has been evolving and advanced all over the world. Several factors influence the adoption of mobile wallet. This quantitative study examines the intention to adopt mobile wallets among females in Jakarta, Indonesia. The purpose is to see how factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions could affect the intention to adopt mobile wallet. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of The Technology (UTAUT) was applied to explain the presumption of the users. A cross-sectional study is conducted whereby the data gathered is from the collection of questionnaires as the main instrument. The data was collected through an online survey. Participants of this study included 183 female individuals from 20 years old and above. The data collected was further analysed using SPSS software for descriptive statistics for each variable. From all the independent variables, Effort Expectancy (EE) has the most significant influence on the intention to adopt mobile wallet. Meanwhile, Social Influence (SI) has the least significant effect on the intention to adopt mobile wallet. Overall, all the independent variables comprise of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions are significant predictors on the intention to adopt mobile wallets among females in Jakarta. This study is crucial to guide other researchers to understand better on Jakarta’s adoption towards the mobile wallet. It is also beneficial for organisations in the technological and financial industry that plans to start the business in Jakarta by knowing the driver factors on behavioural intention towards the mobile wallet.
