Dissertation note: A project submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of BSc. (Hons) in Information Technology with a specialism in Mobile Technology (UC3F1911IT(MBT). Summary: Queuing can be easily found in our daily lives. Most of the queues that can be thought of are happening physically, like queuing in front of the cashier, queue for been served in the bank, waiting for a haircut, and so on. However, there is a potential for the queuing process to be moved online. The potential of conducting the queuing process online is to help the customers to save their precious time instead of standing in the queue physically. It will also prevent another person cutting into the queue as the queuing process is automated. By moving into digital queuing, all the queuing data can be collected to conduct the data-driven analysis. With the help of the collected data, estimated waiting time of the queue can be predicted. With the presence of the estimated waiting time and the current waiting length, it can provide the customer a clearer information before joining a queue.
