520 _aLeadership plays an important role towards the growth and success of any organisation in today’s world. However, there continues to be organizations from various sectors which do not recognize its usefulness in generating employee engagement. In this study, the researcher sought to examine the influence of servant leadership, ethical leadership and autocratic leadership on employee engagement in Tanzania banking industry. There has been some recent research which shows that many organizations especially the banking industry are not able to bring the best employee engagement. In essence, there seems to be a lack of leadership effectiveness within these organisations and as a result, the employees are exhibiting lower engagement. To address this problem, the researcher carried out a quantitative study to show that the use of servant leadership (SL), ethical leadership (EL) and autocratic leadership (AL) can result in superior employee engagement among employees in Tanzania banking industry. The researcher wanted to show that the three-leadership style (SL, EL and AL) are very important for effective and high employee engagement in Tanzania banking industry. The main data collection instrument used in this study was the questionnaire method. A sample of 89 respondents were used and the data that was collected from them was processed using the statistical tests in SPSS. The researcher carried out frequency tests, descriptive mean tests, reliability tests and correlation tests. The correlation tests produced findings that showed the presence relationship between the dependent variable of employee engagement and the independent variables of servant leadership, ethical leadership and autocratic leadership. On the basis of these findings, it can be said that SL, EL and AL have a very important role in employee engagement in Tanzania banking industry. Therefore, it was recommended that the leaders in the banking industry practice effective and comprehensive servant, ethical and autocratic leadership which exhibits high level of employee engagement.
