520 _aTourist satisfaction and its ability to generate long term profitability through encouraging revisits has been a topic of discussion which has grabbed a lot of attention from many scholars. To develop an industry which provide maximum benefits to all stakeholders and also protect and conserve, natural, cultural and built environment, it is vital for destinations to ensure and maintain high levels of tourist satisfaction. Given the fragile ecosystem and culture in island communities, this study focuses on a local inhabited island, K. Maafushi which takes part in active tourism development. This study focuses on examining the relationship between destination image, perceived sustainability and perceived quality on tourist satisfaction, and analysing the strength of perceived value as a mediator between the mentioned variables and tourist satisfaction. For the purpose of this study, non-probability convenience sampling was adopted from which 310 valid responses from tourists were collected. The findings indicated affective image dimension of destination image, cultural sustainability dimension of perceived sustainability and perceived quality affects tourist satisfaction. While strong evidence was obtained perceived value as a mediator.
